Nigeria’s male handball team have departed Nigeria on Tuesday, January 9 to open camps in Benin Republic and Togo for tune up matches before they head to Gabon on January 14 ahead of the 2018 African Handball Championship in Libreville, Gabon.
Nigeria are drawn in Group B with Egypt, Angola, Morocco and DR Congo.
The Michael Tangaahar-led side will take on Angola in their first game on January 17.
The contingent includes 18 players namely;
Saka Salau (Goalkeeper), Adamolugbe Oladunjoye Babatunde (Goalkeeper), Solomon Michael Agbaji (Goalkeeper), Udale Joseph (Left winger), Aminu Chris (Left winger), Aminu Aliyu (Left winger), Samora Samuel (Left back), Philip Igwe Kalu (Left back), Chris Ogedengbe Felix (Centre back), Abdulmajeed Mudashiru (Center back), Ani Obinna (Right back), Jatau Jacobs (Right back), Gbenga Cole (Right winger), Emeka Amadi (Right winger), Mathew Osamwonyi (Right winger), Sessugh Stephen (Pivot), Akande Michael (Pivot) and Emeana Nneji Emmanuel (Pivot).
The 23rd edition of the championship is scheduled to hold from January 17 to January 27, 2018.
