Nigerian table tennis star Aruna Quadri has moved up one place in the latest International Table Tennis Federation ranking released on Monday.
The 29-year-old, who won the Polish Open men’s singles title in October 2017 and also made notable performances in the Bulgaria Open and Swedish open, moved from the 21st to 20th position in the ranking.
In contrast, Quadri lost his top spot place in Africa to Egypt’s Omar Assar who moved up 10 places in the latest ranking and now ranks 16th in the world.
Nigeria’s Olajide Omotayo made a terrific rise in the new ranking moving from 514 to 213.
In the female category, Funke Oshonaike, 42, moved 133 spots up and now ranks 129th in the world.
