Odunayo Adekuoroye joins Indian giants Mumbai Maharathi, reveals reason for move

Indian Pro Wrestling League (PWL) side Mumbai Maharathi have acquired the services of Nigerian wrestler Odunayo Adekuoroye for Rs 35 lakh (approximately N20,000,000).

The Commonwealth champion will be competing in the 57kg category at the season three of the Pro league scheduled to start from January 9, 2018.

The 24-year-old told BusyBuddies that she joined Mumbai Maharathi because they made the highest offer.

“The teams usually come together, and the one with the highest bid for you takes you,” the African Champion explained.”

“It’s not like I decided to go to a particular club (Mumbai Maharathi). The club with the highest bid for you will surely have you.”

It is worthy of note that Adekuroye emerged champion in the season 1 & 2 of the PWL while representing Mumbai Garuda and Punjab Royals respectively.

The 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medalist recently claimed finished second at the World Wrestling Championships in August in Paris, France.
