Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi was in action for Mouscron in their 2-4 loss to league leaders Club Brugge on Tuesday in the Begian Pro League encounter.
The Liverpool loanee assisted Benjamin van Durman in the 35th minute to break the deadlock in the game.
Anthony Limbombe equalised for the hosts on 51 minutes before Brugge took advantage of an extra man on the pitch – after Nathan de Medina was shown a straight red card in the 59th minute – to turn the game on its head and get the win.
Ruud Vormer and Abdoulay Diaby (2) both scored in the latter stage of the game to make Bruno Godeau’s second half strike for Gent just a consolation goal.
Awoniyi has now scored four league goals for his Belgian side this season (five in all competitions).
