Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru has vowed to return hale and hearty after suffering a knee injury in Anderlecht’s 1-0 home win against Eupen in the Belgian Pro League on Friday.
The 20-year-old, who went through a scan on Saturday, has been adjudged to undergo a surgery on his knee in coming weeks.
However, Onyekuru is hopeful of getting a speedy recovery in the coming year ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
“What a great year it has been for me, thank you to everyone that has supported me, especially the Almighty God.
“I hope to return to fitness soon and will be back fitter and stronger in the new year,” the Everton loanee striker from Everton stated on his Twitter handle.
The forward has scored nine goals in 19 league appearances for Anderlecht this season.
