The Nigeria’s men team will take part in next year’s FIBA 3×3 World Cup in Manila, Philippines.
The Federation of International Basketball Associations (FIBA) granted Nigeria the permission to participate despite not reaching the standards to qualify for the tourney.
This was revealed through a letter to the Nigeria Basketball Federation signed by FIBA 3×3 Development Manager, Robert Rieblinger.
Nigeria will be making their first appearance at the world stage in the history of the 3×3 World Cup which started in 2012.
In November, the Nigeria 3×3 team won their first FIBA Africa 3×3 Nations Cup title in Lome, Togo.
The competition comprises of 24 teams and will hold from June 8 to June 12, 2018.
