Super Falcons drop two places in latest FIFA rankings, retain top spot in Africa

The Super Falcons of Nigeria retain top spot in Africa despite a two-place drop in the latest FIFA women’s World rankings released on Friday on their official website.

The 2016 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations champions now occupy 37th position in the World with 1613 points but retain their place as the best in Africa.

Ghana are still ranked 46th in the World and number 2 in Africa while Cameroon, who are third in the continent dropped one spot to 48th spot in the World ranking.

Two-time Africa Women’s Cup of Nations winners Equatorial Guinea are now ranked 53rd in the world and 4th in Africa.

The world top five remains unchanged with USA still the best team, followed by Germany, England, Australia and France.

The next women’s FIFA rankings will be published on March 23, 2018.
