NPFL Super Six: Akwa United move top of group with draw against Kano Pillars

Three-time Nigeria Professional Football League champions Kano Pillars played out a goalless draw with Aiteo Cup champions Akwa United at the onging NPFL Super Six tourney in Kano.

The Promise Keepers, who played out a one-all draw with MFM FC of Lagos on match-day 1, are now lead Group B with two points.

The Sai Masu Gida boys created a couple of chances in the game but couldn’t meet up with expectations of the Kano spectators due to poor conversion strength.

Pillars had the biggest chance of the game to break the deadlock right at the death of the game but couldn’t fire in from six yards allowing  an Akwa defender clear his lines.

The tourney hosts will play their second game against Mountain of Fire Ministries FC on Friday, December 15, 2017.
