Plateau draw Cameroonian giants, MFM to face Bamako in preliminary round of CAF CL

2017 Nigeria Professional Football League champions Plateau United have been drawn to play Cameroonian side Eding Sport FC in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

The Peace Boys will play the first leg of the preliminary round in February 2018 at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos, Nigeria.

While the second leg will hold two weeks later at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Cameroon.

Plateau United, should they win the game against Eding Sport, will face former champions Etoile Sportive du Sahel of Tunisia in the first round.

Nigeria’s other representative, MFM FC of Lagos, will face Malian League Real Bamako at the Stade Modibo Kéïta in the first leg of the prelim.

Former African champions Enyimba International FC are among the 10 teams cleared to move straight into the first round of the Confederation Cup.

The People’s Elephant will face the winner between Benin Republic representative and Aseca Abidjan in the first round.

In other fixtures, Aiteo Cup champions Akwa United will slug it out with Hawks FC of Gambia in the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round.
