Former Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike netted twice as Olympiacos Piraeus defeated Asteras Tripolis 2-1 in a Greek Cup game on Tuesday night.
The former Fenerbahce striker, who switched allegiance to the Greek champions for €3.8 million on a two-year deal during the summer, was making his first start at his new club, after coming off the bench in their previous three matches.
The 30-year-old scored the opener from the penalty spot in the 71st minute in a tightly contested game.
The former Delta Force forward took the game beyond Asteras seven minutes later, before Stavros Tsoukalas got the visitors a consolation with six minutes left in the game.
Olympiacos had played a 1-1 draw against the same opponents in a league game on Saturday when Emenike came off the bench to feature for 34 minutes.
Emenike announced his retirement from international football on October 20, 2015.
